RTB - Round-up, by Martin Cordner A bright, fun arrangement of the chorus "I will call upon the Lord," written in a style often associated with Hollywood westerns.
CSB - Rhapsody on a Theme by Purcell, by Kevin Norbury This theme by British Composer Henry Purcell (1659-95), made famous by Benjamin Britten in his popular work "The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra," is featured in a set of linked variations.  The music starts slowly and is then transformed into a vigorous scherzando, a waltz-like setting, a slow movement and a rumbustious dance.

CSB - Dance of the Tumblers, by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, trs. Wilfred Heaton Rimky-Korsakov's 15 operas contain some of his most popular symphonic music.  His suite from "The Snow Maiden" (1881) ends with this perennial favourite, taken from Act 3.  This transcription for brass band was written in 1971, during Wilfred Heaton's six months as resident conductor of Black Dyke Mills Band.
RTB - Trombone Ensemble - Glory Be!, by William Broughton An arrangement of "When the glory gets into your soul," one of the catchier songs from the 1975 Gowans and Larsson musical "Glory!"

CSB - Deep Harmony, by Marcus Venables A major work for brass band based on the familiar hymn tune that has been a staple in church hymnals for generations.  The music weaves an array of original motifs around the main melody, switching moods from dark and sombre to light and playful before culminating in a grandiose final statement that concludes with an exhilarating flourish.
(Ed Note:  This was the premier performance of this work.  The composer was in attendance at this concert.)
